U.S. Mission Pakistan is seeking applications from qualified individuals for the “Maintenance Worker” position in the U.S. Consulate General, Lahore.
Basic Function of the Position – The incumbent will be working in the Facility Management section of the Consulate. The General Maintenance Worker carries out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and minor repair work on the plumbing system and fixtures, general welding and masonry work in all mission buildings and facilities including residential owned and leased properties. Responds to emergency calls during off-duty hours when there is an imminent threat to the safety of personnel or structural integrity. Addresses existing or potential problems and makes recommendations to ensure systems and equipment meet manufacturers’ operating parameters. Assists in developing and executing a comprehensive maintenance program for building assemblies, site features, equipment, and associated components. Escorts local contractors at post facilities when required.
Qualification Requirements:
EXPERIENCE: A minimum of two (2) years of experience in the repair and maintenance of plumbing and commercial or industrial HVAC/mechanical heating, refrigeration, and ventilation systems is required.

EDUCATION: Completion of secondary school certificate (10 years of education) and/or completion of vocational training from an accredited institute recognized as producing journeyman level technicians with specialization in the plumbing and general construction fields is required.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
The incumbent must have the ability to identify problems or dangers, report issues and provide solution. Communication and interpersonal skills to answer queries from end-users. Must have ability to work as part of a team, work under pressure and a tight schedule. The incumbent must have a valid Pakistani Motor Car/Jeep driving license. Applicants must show proof that they have a minimum of five (5) years of licensed driving experience. Skills and abilities may be tested.
