B. JOB SUMMARY
A Palo Alto Firewall Executive is responsible for deployment, managing, configuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting network security using Palo Alto Networks' firewall solutions. The role includes the implementation of security measures, ensuring the smooth operation of network security infrastructure, and providing protection against threats. The executive collaborates with other IT teams to optimize security policies and ensure compliance with industry standards.
C. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Firewall Configuration:
Design, implement, and configure Palo Alto Networks firewalls based on security requirements and best practices.
Upgrade existing firewalls to the latest software versions and security patches.
Migrate network traffic from Checkpoint and ASA firewalls to Palo Alto firewalls.
· Panorama Management:
Effectively manage and monitor Palo Alto firewalls using Panorama.
Create and manage security policies, objects, and rulesets.
Implement and maintain high-availability configurations.
· Threat Prevention:
Configure and manage Palo Alto Networks' threat prevention features, including URL filtering, intrusion prevention, and malware protection.
Analyze threat intelligence and implement appropriate security measures.
· Performance Optimization:
Monitor firewall performance and identify bottlenecks.
Optimize firewall configurations for maximum performance and efficiency.
· Troubleshooting:
Diagnose and troubleshoot firewall issues.
Provide technical support to network engineers and administrators.
· Documentation:
Maintain comprehensive documentation of firewall configurations and policies.
Qualification
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
Experience
· Proven experience as an IT executive on Palo Alto Firewall platforms.
· Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE) or other relevant certifications.
Technical Competencies
· Deep understanding of Palo Alto Networks firewalls: Proven experience with Palo Alto Networks products, including Panorama.
· Network security expertise: Strong knowledge of network security concepts, protocols, and best practices.
· Migration experience: Experience migrating from competing firewall platforms (e.g., Checkpoint, ASA).
· Technical troubleshooting skills: Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills: Ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical staff.
