Islamic Aid, a renowned international agency with a proven track record of supporting healthcare initiatives, is partnering with the University of Child Health Sciences (UCHS) and the Children's Hospital Lahore to establish a state-of-the-art university campus dedicated to training the next generation of pediatric healthcare professionals in Pakistan. This project is a crucial step towards addressing the critical shortage of qualified pediatric professionals in the country.
Project Objectives:
- Establish UCHS as a center of excellence for pediatric healthcare education and research.
- Strengthen infrastructure at the Children's Hospital, Lahore.
- Foster long-term sustainability and collaborative growth.
- Oversee the development of a university campus that aligns with the project objectives: Ensure the campus design and facilities meet the highest standards for pediatric healthcare education and research, enhance the infrastructure of the Children's Hospital, and promote long-term sustainability and growth.
- Manage the project lifecycle: Provide overall leadership and direction from design and planning to construction, equipment installation, and commissioning.
- Ensure adherence to standards and regulations: Oversee the development of a detailed architectural design that adheres to international standards, national building regulations (including HEC guidelines), accessibility standards, and incorporates sustainable construction practices.
- Manage project finances: Manage the project budget and ensure all expenditures are within allocated funds, secured through Islamic Aid and potential future partners.
- Obtain necessary permits and approvals: Secure necessary permits and approvals from relevant authorities like HEC and local building departments.
- Select and manage construction: Lead the bidding process to select a qualified construction contractor with experience in educational facilities and manage the construction phase, ensuring adherence to timelines, quality standards, safety regulations, and environmental sustainability goals.
- Implement quality control: Implement a rigorous quality control program throughout construction.
- Procure and install equipment: Oversee the procurement, installation, and testing of all equipment for classrooms, labs, library, and other facilities.
- Manage project risks: Manage project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Ensure effective communication: Ensure clear communication and collaboration between all project stakeholders, including Islamic Aid (client), UCHS, architects, engineers, contractors, government agencies, and future campus administration.
- Report on project progress: Regularly monitor project progress and report to Islamic Aid leadership and the UCHS Partnership Management Board on key milestones, achievements, and any challenges.
- Promote sustainability: Advocate for and oversee the implementation of sustainable construction practices throughout the project lifecycle, aiming for LEED certification or similar green building standards.
- Foster collaboration: Foster a collaborative working relationship between Islamic Aid and UCHS representatives.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in managing large-scale construction projects, preferably in the education and health sector sector.
- Proven track record of delivering projects on time, within budget, and to high quality standards.
- Strong understanding of international building standards, national regulations (including HEC guidelines), and accessibility standards.
- Excellent project management skills, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, risk management, and communication.
- Experience in leading and motivating a team of professionals.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in project management software and construction management tools.
- Working knowledge of sustainable construction practices and LEED principles.
- Fluency in English and Urdu; additional languages a plus.
- Experience working in Pakistan or a similar developing country context.
- Understanding of the healthcare education sector in Pakistan.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Rs200,000.00 - Rs250,000.00 per month
