Skills

• Hands on Linux systems administration experience for Linux and BSD variants.
• Experience supporting 24/7 high availability production services.
• In depth knowledge of common protocols like SMTP, POP, IMAP, DNS, FTP and HTTP.
• Must have experience working with LDAP and active directory.
• Proven programming and/or scripting experience (python, c and shell).
• Experience with VMware and AWS.
• Well-honed virtualization and cloud hosting and service concepts with proven exposure.
• Experience configuring firewalls.
• Solid experience in setting up and managing backup solutions and disaster recovery plans using Veeam, Thinware, and cloud-based solutions.
• Expertise in configuring and managing VPN solutions such as Open VPN and IPSec for secure remote access
• Extensive experience with RAID configurations, including RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, and 10, for optimizing storage performance and redundancy.

Qualifications

Candidate must have proven industry experience working with servers, network, cloud, firewalls and video surveillance technology.

BS degree in Computer Science or related field with at least 3 years of commercial experience.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do:

• Deployment of new services and features.
• Manage and maintain Linux servers and storage environments that include corprate, test and productions systems that are hosted in our customer's environments.
• Encounter multiple fires that need putting out.
• Spot opportunities for automation and create tools to automate daily tasks.
• Hone your multitasking skills between calls and tickets.
• Participate in after-hours on-call rotation.
