Position Title: VMware Support Engineer
Qualification: BS Computer Science or Telecommunication
Experience: 5 to 6 years hands on experience on Experience with virtualization (e.g., VMware, v SAN, NSX Horizon virtual desktop and app management and monitoring)
Responsibilities
· VMware , v SAN support and deployments
· VMware NSX support/Migration/deployment
· VMware Technologies troubleshooting and deployments VMotion, VMware DRS and VMware HA
· VMware Horizon virtual desktop and app management and monitoring)
· Work on all issues that involve VMware technologies directly or indirectly, Installation, Configuration & troubleshooting.
· Upgrade of VMware if/when required.
· Write-up of Incident Report with Root Cause Analysis on any incident
· Capacity Planning of VMware environment
· Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure
· Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools
· Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
· Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement those fixes
· Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies
· Provide 2nd and 3rd level support
· Coordinating with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
· Developing and deploying customized VMware solutions.
· Defining multiple virtual servers on a single host machine.
· Designing and implementing virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) and enabling template management.
· Troubleshooting and resolving VMware environment issues.
· Providing technical support and documenting VMware processes.
Certification: Certifications will be preferred
· VMware Certified Advanced Professional 6.5 - Data Center Virtualization Design
· VMware Certified Professional VMware NSX-T Data Center
· Workspace ONE Unified Endpoint Management Specialist
· Workspace ONE Design and Advanced Integration Specialist
· VMware Certified Professional VMware Horizon 7.7
· Digital Workspace Livefire Architecture & Design
· VMware Certified Professional - Digital Workspace
· VMware Certified Professional (Cloud Iaa S 5.1)
· VMware Certified Professional Datacenter Virtualization [5.x]
