Job Overview:
We are small primary medical clinic seeking a friendly, organized Medical Receptionist/Medical Assistant to join our team. This dual-role position involves both front-office duties and direct patient care, helping ensure a smooth and efficient workflow in our clinic. You will be the first point of contact for patients, as well as assist a physician and physician assistant in delivering high-quality care.
Key Responsibilities:Medical Receptionist Duties:

• Greet and check in patients upon arrival.
• Answer and manage incoming calls, schedule appointments, and maintain an organized appointment system.
• Verify patient insurance information and handle pre-authorizations.
• Collect co-pays, process payments, and assist with billing inquiries.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
• Manage medical records and ensure accurate data entry into the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
• Assist with general office duties (e.g., filing, faxing, scanning documents).

Medical Assistant Duties:

• Prepare patients for exams, taking vital signs, and obtaining medical history.
• Assist physicians during exams and procedures.
• Perform basic lab tests (e.g., urine dip, blood draws) and administer vaccinations.
• Administer EKGs
• Clean and prepare exam rooms between patients.
• Restock medical supplies and ensure equipment is properly sterilized.
• Provide patient education on medication, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
• Coordinate patient referrals to specialists as needed.
• Assist with prescription refills and prior authorizations.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA) or LPN preferred.
• Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or Medical Assistant/LPN in a family medicine or outpatient clinic setting is preferred.
• Proficiency in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and basic healthcare procedures.
