Assistant Accounting Manager

Role Overview:
This role is mainly responsible for General Accounting and Treasury Management, ensuring compliance in group reporting and accountable in maintenance of the local accounting accounts. The General Accountant will also assist the Accounting Manager in the preparation of statutory financial statements and handling internal and external audits.
1. Perform month-end account closing activities and reconciliations.
2. Prepare monthly Balance sheet schedules including but not limited to cash accounts,
prepayments, accruals, fixed assets and intercompany transactions.
3. Maintain general ledger accounts and prepare journal entries for accruals and adjustments (if any).
4. Ensures timely accomplishment of assigned group reporting tasks to meet the group reporting deadline.
5. Ensures effective fixed assets management including maintenance of updated records of fixed assets’ acquisition costs and depreciations. Conducts periodic physical checking/inventory of fixed assets to assess functionality or obsolescence.
6. Close coordination with Sales and Supply chain team on JDE related concerns involving pricing and discounting set up.
7. Preparing and communicating weekly to monthly banking activity reports.
8. Coordinate with banks in all treasury related transactions such as FX trading, priority payments and weekly disbursements
9. Monitor all open account registration with close coordination with Supply Chain Team
10. Liaises with other departments to resolve issues arising from improper accounting treatment and account classification. Discusses regularly with Accounting Manager regarding issues on AP & GL.
11. Assists internal and external audits by ensuring that audit schedules are provided on time and audit queries are attended.
12. Participates in inventory cycle and annual counts.
13. Undertakes additional responsibilities as required.
Qualifications Guidelines:
– BS accountancy or any accounting related course Graduate
– Minimum 5-7 years relevant accounting experience with General Accounting and minimum 3
years in Treasury
– Experience in supporting internal and external audits is an advantage
– Good knowledge of Philippine Accounting Standards
– Good Knowledge of accounting systems preferably JD Edwards
– Good command of MS Office
– Good communication skills
