Assistant Workspace Engineering Manager

- Design, implement, and oversee maintenance programs for building systems and equipment.
- Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify and address potential issues before they become problems.
- Manage and coordinate repair, replacement, and upgrade projects for building systems and equipment.
- Develop and maintain documentation for all building systems, including operating procedures, maintenance schedules, and emergency protocols.
- Analyze energy consumption and implement energy-efficient solutions to reduce costs and improve sustainability.
- Ensure compliance with relevant building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
- Troubleshoot complex system failures and implement effective solutions.
- Manage relationships with contractors and vendors for maintenance, repair, and installation services.
- Participate in the planning and execution of facility renovation and expansion projects.
- Develop and manage budgets for facilities engineering activities and projects.
- Train and supervise facilities maintenance staff on proper equipment operation and maintenance procedures.
- Stay informed about advances in building technologies and recommend improvements when appropriate.
- Assist in emergency response planning and execution for facility-related incidents.
- Contribute to the development of long-term facility strategies and capital improvement plans.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license is often preferred or required.
- 5+ years of experience in facilities engineering or a related role.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building automation systems.
- Familiarity with energy management systems and conservation techniques.
- Understanding of building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
- Proficiency in computer-aided facility management (CAFM) software and building information modeling (BIM).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong project management abilities.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs and practices.
- Knowledge of occupational health and safety principles.
- Certifications such as Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or Certified Facility Manager (CFM) are advantageous
