Assistant Workspace Engineering Manager

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and oversee maintenance programs for building systems and equipment.
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify and address potential issues before they become problems.
  • Manage and coordinate repair, replacement, and upgrade projects for building systems and equipment.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for all building systems, including operating procedures, maintenance schedules, and emergency protocols.
  • Analyze energy consumption and implement energy-efficient solutions to reduce costs and improve sustainability.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
  • Troubleshoot complex system failures and implement effective solutions.
  • Manage relationships with contractors and vendors for maintenance, repair, and installation services.
  • Participate in the planning and execution of facility renovation and expansion projects.
  • Develop and manage budgets for facilities engineering activities and projects.
  • Train and supervise facilities maintenance staff on proper equipment operation and maintenance procedures.
  • Stay informed about advances in building technologies and recommend improvements when appropriate.
  • Assist in emergency response planning and execution for facility-related incidents.
  • Contribute to the development of long-term facility strategies and capital improvement plans.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license is often preferred or required.
  • 5+ years of experience in facilities engineering or a related role.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building automation systems.
  • Familiarity with energy management systems and conservation techniques.
  • Understanding of building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
  • Proficiency in computer-aided facility management (CAFM) software and building information modeling (BIM).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong project management abilities.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance programs and practices.
  • Knowledge of occupational health and safety principles.
  • Certifications such as Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or Certified Facility Manager (CFM) are advantageous
