Bookkeeper (Retail Industry)

Role Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Bookkeeper with 3+ years of end-to-end bookkeeping experience to assist a client in the retail industry. This role requires expertise in handling daily financial transactions, managing accounts, and ensuring accurate financial records using Net Suite. The ideal candidate will also support the team with various ad hoc tasks as needed, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain financial records by establishing accounts and posting transactions.
  • Oversee compliance with statutory deadlines and manage periodical control reports.
  • Handle end-to-end Accounts Receivable: issuing invoices, allocating receipts, managing debts, and reconciling GL with AR subledger.
  • Manage end-to-end Accounts Payable: processing invoices, employee reimbursements, payments, and reconciling GL with AP subledger.
  • Collaborate with external accountants for annual accounts and tax queries.
  • Perform data entry, organization, cross-referencing, and retrieval tasks.
  • Prepare and process payroll, including related tasks.
  • Conduct accurate bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statements (IAS) and perform reconciliations.
  • Conduct credit investigations, manage overdue payments, and raise adjustment notes.
  • Handle various ad hoc duties and project work related to Accounts Services.
Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3 years of end-to-end bookkeeping experience in a private company, specifically within the retail industry.
  • Proficiency in Net Suite.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
