Wood has an opportunity for a Piping Supervisor role in in a module fabrication contract to be executed in a module fabrication yard located in Philippines
- Responsible for construction and contractor related deliverables
- Responsible for management and execution of a single field discipline or a subset of assigned construction project(s) in accordance with the requirements of the contract between the company and the client, and in accordance with the company’s operating policies and principles.
- Responsible for execution of the work in accordance with the quality and safety standards and requirements specified for the project.
- Manages and controls project cost and schedule of assigned discipline / subset of on site construction.
- Management of installation, commissioning and completion activities for some materials and equipment
- Ensure safety, quality and environmental responsibilities and accountabilities have been defined and communicated to workers engaged within their area(s) of control
- Ensure all workers within their area(s) of control receive appropriate training to perform their work in a safe, legal and competent manner including any Health and Safety and site-specific inductions
- Initiate safety, quality and environmental processes within their area(s) of control, including toolbox meetings, inspections, and the identification, assessment and control of risks in accordance with Wood and client requirements
- Manages and controls project cost and schedule of assigned discipline / subset of on site construction. Utilise Commercial processes to capture variations effectively
- Coordinate supply and delivery of equipment, subcontractors, consumables, accommodation and other project-specific requirements, in accordance with client/contract document specifications and in accordance with Wood Policies & Procedures
- Understand and manage the industrial relations environment impacting the site and report any issues as required
- Works with engineering in the design phases to influence the design for optimum constructability.
- Demonstrable experience post piping apprenticeship / training coupled with current relative experience
- Demonstrable offshore experience (minimum 10 years) in a chargehand / supervisory role personal qualities, aptitudes, and skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and provide direction to ensure subordinate staff comply with operating manual and relevant procedures
- Always demonstrate commitment to working safely
- Flexible - able to comply with company and client requirements
- Ability to work with other team members / disciplines and in a multi-cultural environment
- Confident and with an ability to work unsupervised and work on own initiative
- Has a desire to learn and develop within the role and develop others as part of nationalization program
- Ability to supervise work activities
- Comply with operational and safety manuals and procedures
- Possesses a good understanding of safe working practices and can always demonstrate commitment to safe working
- Can demonstrate a high standard in completion of tasks associated with the role of Piping Supervisor as defined in associated job specification
- Can demonstrate the ability to read / understand and implement procedures / specifications / drawings / sketches
- Can demonstrate the ability to deliver all welding work scopes to the required / specified project / industry standards
- Ability to recognize change
- Ability to plan and arrange resource including welding tools and consumable
- Ability to coordinate with construction supervisor for manpower and piping requirement
