Room Attendant/Housekeeping Staff

Position Summary:
Responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, orderliness, and overall presentation of guest rooms and suites. This role plays a vital part in providing an exceptional guest experience by maintaining high standards of cleanliness and attention to detail. The Room Attendant contributes to the hotel's reputation for hospitality and comfort by creating a welcoming and pleasant environment for guests.
Key Responsibilities:
Guest Room Cleaning:
  • Clean and service assigned guest rooms, including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, and cleaning bathrooms.
  • Change linens, towels, and other guest room amenities as needed.
  • Replenish guest room supplies such as toiletries, coffee, tea, and minibar items.
  • Ensure all guest rooms are properly stocked, organized, and presented according to hotel standards.
Room Inspection:
  • Conduct thorough inspections of guest rooms to ensure cleanliness, proper setup, and that all equipment and amenities are functioning correctly.
  • Report any maintenance issues, damages, or safety hazards found in guest rooms to the Housekeeping Supervisor for prompt resolution.
  • Ensure that guest rooms meet the hotel's quality standards before marking them as ready for occupancy.
Guest Interaction:
  • Greet guests warmly and respond to their inquiries or requests in a courteous and helpful manner.
  • Provide guests with additional items such as extra towels, pillows, or toiletries upon request.
  • Respect guests' privacy and adhere to the hotel's policies regarding entering occupied rooms.
Linen and Laundry Handling:
  • Collect and transport dirty linens, towels, and trash from guest rooms to designated areas.
  • Handle clean linens with care, ensuring they are properly folded, stored, and used according to hotel procedures.
  • Report any laundry shortages or issues to the Housekeeping Supervisor.
Adherence to Hotel Standards:
  • Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines while performing cleaning tasks.
  • Use cleaning products and equipment properly to avoid damage to hotel property or harm to oneself and others.
  • Maintain the confidentiality and security of guest information and belongings.
Support to Housekeeping Team:
  • Assist other housekeeping staff as needed, including in public areas, corridors, and back-of-house spaces.
  • Participate in team meetings and training sessions to stay informed about hotel policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to a positive and cooperative work environment within the housekeeping department.
Inventory and Supply Management:
  • Monitor and report the usage of cleaning supplies and guest amenities to ensure adequate inventory levels.
  • Ensure that housekeeping carts are organized, stocked, and ready for use at the beginning of each shift.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Degree in Hospitality Management or related field.
Experience: Previous experience in housekeeping or a similar role in the hospitality industry is preferred but not required.
Skills: Attention to detail and the ability to follow cleaning procedures accurately.
Good time-management skills and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
Strong communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
Physical stamina and the ability to perform tasks that involve lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
A friendly and approachable demeanor with a commitment to providing excellent guest service.
Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and evenings.
