Job Objectives:

• To manage the distribution center (DC) to ensure continuous, efficient and cost-effective operations. The assignment covers both warehouse and transport operation in the assigned DC.
• To provide proactive and flexible approach to attain cost targets and desired service levels
• To lead, manage and develop employees to maximize their skills, expertise and potential

Tasks and Activities:
1. Is responsible for continuous, efficient and cost-effective DC operation, capitalizing on Nextrade and third-party logistics provider. In particular, he ensures:

• Smooth flow of DC day to day operation.
• Efficient, timely and accurate receipt and put-away of stocks
• Efficient, timely & accurate despatch of stocks to customers and other DCs
• Optimum levels of Inventory, providing effective control and management
• Effective monitoring and disposition of ageing stocks
• Lot code integrity, FEFO and full traceability
• Good Warehousing Practices (GWP) are followed
• Timely, accurate and complete preparation of Scorecards/Dashboard
• Missed performances are analysed and corrective actions implemented.
• Timely and accurate system updates
• Established policies, systems and processes are followed by all parties
• Proactively ensures that all aspects of Health & Safety policies are appropriately implemented and sustained to maintain a safe and sound workplace
• Maintains and ensures compliance with Nextrade SCM Policies & Procedures in all areas of supply chain operations
• Initiates & implements DC and Transport best practices on site

2. Drives DC productivity, innovation and other continuous improvement initiatives to maintain best-in-class status

• Provide inputs in the formulation of strategies and action plans to support current and long-term business goals and objectives
• Review, recommend and implement upon approval, DC’s required resources, additional process and control that will result to better productivity and attainment of targets
• Accounts for DC expenses against budget
• Accounts for all assets installed in the DC specially those provided by Nextrade (e.g. MHE, computers, furniture, etc.)
• Minimizes damages of stocks and non-quality costs within the DC
• Review and discuss 3PL performance with Superior and make recommendation as to expansion or reduction of scope including termination of service

3. Manages and ensures attainment of internal and external customer’s expectations

• Support the logistical needs of Customer Service & Sales in the area of coverage
• Provide required reports and information to Management, 3PL and other parties on time

4. Leads, manages and develops employees, under their direct responsibility, to attain and maximize their full potential through proper coaching, development and guidance and proactively utilizing them to improve operational efficiency

• Contributes in the preparation, adaption or restructuring of organizations in order to best respond to anticipated changes
• Gather and share market intelligence and external benchmarking to employees
• Conduct periodic performance evaluation for subordinates
• Maintain professional working relationship with third party to improve team performance.

Functional and Business Knowledge
A. Well versed with the different aspects of warehouse and transport operations based on best practices
B. Conversant with GWP including health and safety
C. Understands cost elements in DC operations
D. Good understanding of the other SCM functions
E. Familiar with Nextrade products particularly storage, handling and transport requirements
F. Aware of Nextrade Customers requirements and peculiarity
Key Experience
A. Have handled subordinates and /or 3PL
B. Worked in warehouse and logistics area in at least a supervisory role
C. Exposure in other areas of SCM
Academic Background
A. College graduate preferably in Engineering
