The Company focuses on solar power project development, construction management and project financing services with local professional teams in more than 10 countries around the world.We have a unique opportunity to join our team in Warsaw in a Head of Technical Division role to support Emeren’s rapidly growing solar and storage business and contribute to the transition to a low carbon, sustainable economy.
The primary purpose of this role is to facilitate the expansion of our business by providing critical support in the planning, execution, and development of photovoltaic projects, ensuring that each phase aligns with our strategic goals and contributes to the overall success of our solar initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Support in identification and qualification of sites and projects with high photovoltaic potential PV and potential BESS projects
- Support Country Director in Strategy definition and implementation
- Leading Project management of existing projects in Poland
- Leading Technical Project monitoring and management
- Coordination of necessary internal and external resources
- Support in development efforts for greenfield, co-development and project acquisitions
- Provide Technical support and lead pre-feasibility studies of the new projects: technical pre-studies (sizing), risk analysis, costing, etc.
- Support Business Development team: audit and challenge the technical -economic feasibility studies
- Communicate with the project team on the needs necessary for the implementation of commercial action
- Assess land suitability for large-scale solar power plants, including conducting on-site inspections
- Supervise and lead the team to conduct thorough analysis of project farms to ensure compliance and feasibility
- Manage risks and draft technical and legal documentation required for successful project execution
- Assist in preparing Key Investment Plans (KIP), environmental assessments, and building permits
- Evaluate electricity network connections and energy distribution to optimize efficiency
- Oversee environmental protocols and manage project design implementation
- Ensure that all aspects of the project align with regulatory standards, organizational goals, and investor expectations
- Formulate initial land development strategies to outline project scope
- Compile reports, conduct analysis, and create presentations for investor review
- Lead and support the team in their day to day activities to help them reach their full potential and achieve Company goals
Requirements
- 5+ years’ experience in solar PV/ BESS/ wind project development environment.
- University degree in Renewable Energy Systems (RES), spatial management, environment, energy, electrical engineering, or related disciplines
- Proven experience and ability to assess large-scale PV projects from a technical and economical perspective
- Proven Project Management experience
- Ability to work independently and proactively approach stakeholders
- Proficiency in utilizing software such as QGis, Arc Map, Auto CAD, or similar tools for spatial analysis and planning
- Fundamental understanding of geodetic data, topographic, and resource maps (EGi B, GESUT, PRG, BDOT500)
- Solid proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Power Point
- Demonstrated ability to effectively present and communicate analysis and data
- Strong analytical prowess and organizational abilities
- Passionate about renewable energy sources
- Knowledgeable about developments in the RES market across Europe
- Possession of a valid category B driving license, drone licesnse
- Willingness to travel (Poland)
- Intermediate proficiency level in English (B2)
