Commercial Procurement Specialist Eastern Europe

DP World, the global logistics leader that currently handles more than 10% of world trade, is seeking a Commercial Procurement Specialist to join the newly established Shared Service Center in Bucharest, Romania.
This role is central in supporting the growth of our Contract Logistics business in Central & Eastern Europe. You will oversee all procurement activities for new customer bids and project launches, assuming full end-to-end responsibility from the initial bid to project implementation. This role involves active participation in operational and tactical business decisions, as well as leading initiatives that drive market innovation and deliver tailored solutions to customers.

This role is central in supporting the growth of our Contract Logistics business in Central & Eastern Europe. You will oversee all procurement activities for new customer bids and project launches, assuming full end-to-end responsibility from the initial bid to project implementation. This role involves active participation in operational and tactical business decisions, as well as leading initiatives that drive market innovation and deliver tailored solutions to customers.
Your responsibilities:
- Serve as primary liaison to (internal) customers and provide recommendations for improved processes.
- Improving and creating processes, driving decisions, and influencing change making use of negotiation skills, analytical skills, and resourcefulness.
- Making sure the safety, availability, reliability, quality, total cost of ownership, sustainability, and security in supplier and contractor deliveries are met.
- Leading change, managing and monitoring progress, critical actions and metrics/KPIs, promptly taking a proactive, hands-on approach when challenges arise.
- Establishing an excellent two-way communication with the project team, ensuring an efficient collaboration.
- Providing direction and feedback to all (cross-functional) team members and assisting them in issue resolution.
- Leading or participating in business process redesign teams.
- Analyzing and validating contracts and agreements, ensuring an appropriate communication with the Legal Department for full approval.

Generating and maintaining accurate records according to established procedures for quotes, cost estimates, items, tooling, purchase orders, supplier performance, spend analysis, etc.
Your Profile:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain or equivalent preferred.
- Approximately 2 years of relevant Procurement/Purchasing experience in a related field of business e.g. logistics or manufacturing.
- Eager to develop in Project Management and Supplier Management.
- English language skills on a professional level with preferably one additional language.
- Analytical, fact based, strong conceptual skills and able to make solid business cases.
- A strong ability to organize several activities and initiatives.
- A proactive attitude with the ability to think ahead, ensuring smooth collaboration with suppliers and multicultural teams while driving timely delivery.
- Ability to negotiate as an agent on the company’s behalf, ensuring the company is represented in the best possible way.
- Ability to work well in complex cross-functional teams that include internal and external customers, and suppliers.
- Ability to complete Tactical/Operational actions and initiatives in a timely manner while adhering to project budgets.
- Ability to travel to sites for start-up initiatives and to train and work with site purchasing professionals.
