What you can expect
The Intermediate Ergonomics Engineer reviews assembly processes and designs to minimize ergonomic risks. They provide insights and recommendations to ensure worker safety, collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize human and system performance. They plan and manage projects, communicating with their supervisor and customers. The Intermediate Ergonomics Engineer seeks feedback from customers and mentors junior team members, providing guidance and knowledge transfer to help them grow and develop their skills in ergonomics.

Key Responsibilities/Duties

• Perform Ergonomics Failure Mode and Effects Analysis on assembly processes using industry accepted ergonomics analysis tools
• Compile low- and high-level detail 3D human model simulations using available DHM CAD software (Siemens Process Simulate Human / Jack)
• Perform design reviews on assembly processes and 3D design reviews of operator load fixtures to support process engineering team during new program launches
• Provide quick feedback on in-house design projects
• Test scenarios for improving ergonomics of assembly process and design in 3D CAD environment, and present recommendations to project engineering team
• Maintain current standards on ergonomic design guidelines, operator movement times, operator utilization

What you will bring

• Knowledge and Education: Bachelor or master’s degree in kinesiology, biomechanics, ergonomics, human factor engineering, industrial engineering or related field
• CCCPE or BCPE certification preferred
• At least 1 yr experience working in automotive manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of ergonomic principles & analysis tools and their application in manufacturing environments Ergonomics analysis tools (not limited to): Garg Equations, NIOSH Lifting Equation, Jack/Process Simulate, 3DSSPP, RULA, Liberty Mutual, Material Handling Tables, Mital Tables, Strain Index, Arm Force Field, Work(s)
• Hands-on industrial experience
• Strong English communication skills (verbal and written) to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders
