Project Manager - Civic Buildings

The Project Manager (PM) utilizes their extensive knowledge of capital project management, planning, design, construction and project administration to deliver new capital or renovation/addition projects. In addition, the PM is responsible for the development and definition of project scopes, schedules and budgets, as well as oversight of project contractors for the delivery of feasibility/concept level studies, schematic designs, design development, permit applications, and the necessary internal reviews, approvals and reporting as required for the project.
The role will require follow-through of project implementation, including the oversight and management of consultants and/or self-performing for the development of construction documents, project tender, tender award and construction administration. Responsibilities also include the understanding and use of the program's standard form of consulting and construction contracts, supplementary conditions, RFP, EOI, RFQ templates, and related template forms and letters.
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and implementation of civic building projects from conception to completion.
- Manage project scope, schedule, budget, and resources effectively.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure alignment on project objectives.
- Monitor and report on project progress, risks, and issues to stakeholders.
- Ensure projects comply with relevant regulations, standards, and safety protocols.
- Foster a positive team environment and encourage innovative solutions.
- Prepare and deliver presentations and reports to clients and upper management.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management within the civic/building sector.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering civic building projects.
- Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
- In-depth knowledge of building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
