BLUE HOUSE (MUTIARA) PTE. LTD.

Early Years Educator (English or Mandarin)

Singapore

FULL TIME

August 29, 2024

Are you a creative thinker who loves to try new things and create learning that's relevant and meaningful for children?

Have you longed to offer children opportunities to discover their talents indoors and out, without stifling timetables and hurried routines?

Then, the Reggio Emilia-inspired approach might best align with your personal ethos and pedagogy beliefs!
Best practice and pedagogical finesse are put into action when educators can feel inspired and proud of the work they do to design curriculum around children's development and genuine interests.

As Blue House grows, we seek the right individuals who wish to hone their expertise and ambition to serve the community of educators, children and families with heart!

At Blue House, our beliefs and values have been shaped into a unique and inspired educational programme by the Reggio Emilia approach to early years education. Our values and principles create an environment that honours children’s voices and lays the foundation for an emergent curriculum that is co-constructed and centred on the image of children as capable, curious, and full of potential. Our ideal applicants must be confident communicators to articulate children's learning through observation, documentation and reflection.

Successful candidates can look forward to
  • collaborative work environments and
  • ongoing mentorship, as well as
  • rewarding packages that acknowledge exceptional practice.

A full-time position offers
  • non-contact time each week for meetings, reflections and documentation tasks
  • a one-hour lunch break (not a hurried lunch with children)
  • a Monday - Friday work schedule
  • Professional Development, team bonding experiences and community events to bring us together across Blue House.

Locations available:
19 Kay Siang Road, Singapore 248935
17 Jalan Mutiara, Singapore 249196
17 Rambai Road, Singapore 424336

Highlights:
  • Competitive remuneration
  • 20 days Annual Leave
  • Variable Bonus
  • Attractive Shift Pattern
  • Non-Contact Lunch Time
  • Joining Bonus

Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with other educators to implement best practices and respectful nurturing and care to children aged 18 months to 6 years.
  • Creating an emergent curriculum that is developmentally appropriate and aligned with our Reggio Emilia-inspired pedagogy.
  • Lead parent communications in-person and via online platforms, displaying strong communication skills and providing a nurturing, cooperative approach to parent relationships in a multicultural community.
  • Ensure a clean, safe and enriching environment for children’s explorations
  • Engage in reflective practice using planning and observation tools provided
  • Prepare documentation pieces for families and school environments, showcasing children’s learning and educator’s reflections
  • Coordinate parent events for festivals, exhibitions, field trips and parent volunteering opportunities
  • Parent events will take place termly in the evenings for celebrations and parent-teacher evenings, but these are pre-planned in the academic calendar, which runs from January to December.

Pre-Requisites:
  • A Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education.
  • 3 or more years of working experience with children under 6 is preferred.
  • Training or experience working within a Reggio Emilia-inspired context will be an advantage, but training will also be provided on the job.

We would love to connect with Early Childhood Education professionals looking to belong within a progressive, driven and people-centric organisation.
