Position Determination:
Position title: Marketing Manager
Organisation: Mercy Mission South Africa
Location: Durban- KZN
Contract: Contract
Reporting to: CEO/ Resource Mobilization Manager
Key Responsibilities:
The Marketing manager is responsible for developing and implementing strategic marketing strategies & plans for the Organisation to achieve business objectives and drive brand growth. This role involves leading all marketing campaigns, analysing market trends, and managing a team of marketing professionals to retain current donors and obtain new ones.
A strong background in marketing strategy, excellent leadership skills, and a creative approach to problem-solving. You will be responsible for working with executives to determine budgets and targets and developing pricing strategies for services.
Your role will involve providing guidance and direction to the Organisation to achieve exceptional results. The marketing manager will play a critical role in aligning creative direction with the Organisation’s strategic goals.
Duties and Tasks:
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies to increase brand visibility, market share, and stakeholder engagement.  Campaign
- Management: Oversee the creation and execution of marketing campaigns across various channels, including digital, social media, email, and traditional media through marketing strategies. Ensure the Organisation is communicating the right messaging to attract prospective donors and retain existing ones
- Market Research: Conduct market research to identify trends, needs, and competitive landscape. Use insights to guide marketing strategies and tactics.
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of marketing professionals. Foster a collaborative environment to encourage creativity and high performance.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage the marketing budget. Allocate resources effectively and ensure cost-efficient execution of marketing initiatives.
- Performance Tracking: Monitor and analyse the performance of marketing campaigns and initiatives. Use data-driven insights to optimize strategies and report on ROI.
-Brand Management: Ensure consistent brand messaging and positioning across all marketing channels. Maintain and enhance the Organisations brand image.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to align marketing efforts with overall business goals.
- Content Creation: Oversee the development of marketing materials, including website content, social media posts, blog articles, and promotional materials.
- Event Management: Plan and coordinate marketing events, trade shows, and webinars to promote the company and its services.
- Reporting: Updating management and leadership on the progress of marketing activities and reporting on the results of all campaigns.
Skills and Knowledge Required:
- Intimate understanding of traditional and emerging marketing channels
- Excellent communication skills  Ability to think creatively and innovatively
- Budget-management skills and proficiency
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing strategies.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Proficiency in marketing software and tools.
- Ability to analyse data and generate actionable insights.
- Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organisational and project management skills.
- Professional judgment and discretion that comes from years of experience in the field
- Analytical skills to forecast and identify trends and challenges
- Familiarity with the latest trends, technologies, and methodologies in graphic design, web design, production, etc.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team, with a commitment to the organisation's mission and values.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Excel
- Experience working in a donor-funded organisation / NGO or project-based environment is a plus.
- Excellent project management and coordination skills
- Excellent facilitation and ability to conduct presentations in a professional environment.
- Experience in training and development of material.
- Report writing ability.
- Risk management skills.
- Strong administrative skills and report writing.
- Excellent telephone etiquette.
- Effective presenting and communication skills, both in writing and verbally.
- Ability to work in a demanding self-supervisory, multi-task environment within strict timelines.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Attention to detail and extreme accuracy.
- Systems and policy and procedure knowledge.
- Keep abreast with all activities and projects within the organisation.
- A positive attitude, as well as a high level of problem-solving proficiency
- Strong knowledge and background on the organisation.
- Understanding of current marketing trends, digital marketing strategies, and brand management.
Education and Work Experience:
A bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, or a related field is required. MBA or advanced degree is a plus. 8 years plus experience in Marketing preferably in an NGO sector, with 5 years in a managerial role.
Willing to travel as and when necessary.
