Our client a leading financial institution dedicated to innovation and customer satisfaction is on the look out for a Mobile Architect who can drive their native i OS and Android platforms to new heights, ensuring that our mobile banking experience is top-notch, reliable, and secure for our users.
Purpose
As the Native Mobile Architect for i OS & Android, you will lead the architecture, design, and implementation of their mobile applications. This role requires strong technical expertise, a passion for mobile development, and a forward-thinking approach to bring seamless and scalable mobile solutions to our banking clients. The Mobile Architect will be pivotal in creating and evolving the technical standards, ensuring robust, high-performance, and secure mobile applications.
Tasks include:
- Design and implement highly scalable and secure native mobile applications on i OS and Android platforms
- Define and drive the mobile architecture strategy and ensure alignment with business goals and technology roadmap
- Work closely with product, design, and engineering teams to create cohesive, high-quality solutions
- Focus on performance, security, and scalability to deliver a seamless user experience
- Mentor and provide guidance to other mobile engineers, advocating best practices, code quality, and development standards
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in mobile architecture to bring innovative solutions to the mobile platforms
- Oversee code reviews, testing, and continuous integration and deployment processes to ensure the quality and reliability of mobile applications
Requirements:
- 7+ years in mobile development with at least 3 years as a Mobile Architect or Lead Engineer for native i OS and Android applications
- Proficiency in Swift, Objective-C (i OS), and Kotlin, Java (Android)
- Strong understanding of i OS and Android design principles, interface guidelines, and development ecosystems
- Familiarity with mobile-specific architectures, including MVVM, MVC, and clean architecture patterns
- In-depth knowledge of RESTful APIs, Graph QL, and backend services for mobile
- Expertise in mobile performance optimisation and security best practices for mobile banking applications
- Experience with Xcode, Android Studio, Git, CI/CD pipelines, and mobile testing frameworks
- Proven experience working in agile environments, with excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve technical issues effectively
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Experience with mobile payment integration, secure data storage, and handling sensitive customer data
- Knowledge of cross-platform development frameworks, e.g., Flutter or React Native
- Background in financial technology or banking applications
- Understanding of cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and mobile backend services
