Join us as a National Road Logistics Customer Care and Operations Specialist in Gauteng, South Africa, coordinating shipments and ensuring compliance with customs regulations while building strong customer and supplier relationships

Your Role

You will coordinate export and import shipments, ensuring compliance with customs regulations and maintaining seamless operations from collection to delivery. You will build strong relationships with customers and suppliers, manage multi-modal shipments, and ensure timely invoicing and payment. With a focus on customer satisfaction, you’ll use your problem-solving skills and industry knowledge to drive successful outcomes and promote additional business opportunities. Your Responsibilities

• Coordinate overland export, import, and in-transit shipments from purchase order issuance to delivery;
• Handle multi-modal shipments according to customer requirements;
• Ensure adherence to customer and internal deadlines and procedures;
• Maintain service levels and revenue margins, minimizing write-offs and errors;
• Ensure compliance with customs regulations and prompt return of Proof of Delivery (PODs);
• Keep clients informed of shipment progress through daily tracking reports;
• Liaise with suppliers and third parties for timely cargo collection;
• Invoice customers accurately and resolve queries quickly to ensure prompt payment;
• Communicate and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders;
• Promote additional business by providing high standards of service and managing warehousing and trans-shipment operations.

Your Skills and Experiences

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management (preferred);
• Professional Certification in Freight Forwarding (preferred);
• 2-5 years of experience in Road logistics;
• 1-5 years of experience in Customer Management;
• Project Management and International Experience;
• Excellent problem-solving and rate negotiation skills;
• Fluent in English.
