Purpose of the Position:

• The Senior Manager: Scheduling will be responsible for scheduling across all DMS platforms for linear platforms in South Africa and Africa.
• The Senior Manager: Scheduling is responsible for ensuring the Scheduling workflow runs optimally, efficiently and maintains a high standard of quality.

Key Performance Objectives
Tasks

Scheduling

• Manage all aspects of the Scheduling function for South Africa and Africa to ensure that workflows and processes are efficient, deadlines are met, and excellent standards are upheld along the value chain


• Enforce quality control measures and ensure they are in place across all Scheduling processes and workflows.
• Manage the scheduling and inventory optimization of commercials including addressing of clashes into scheduling system for various channels/ platforms.



• Oversee the preparation of final logs according to agreed deadlines prior to broadcast for all DMS channels South Africa and Africa
• Oversee the implementation of sponsorship front sheets for all events according to channel deadlines
• Oversee and confirm all final breaks for all channels have been exported for broadcast within deadline.
• Drive process and systems optimisation in close collaboration with Continuous Improvement
• Champion the scheduling process to include Digital and non-linear, where applicable.
• Ensure DMS policies are adhered to for Scheduling.

People management

• Manage the recruitment and retention of the best talent in conjunction with the Head of Operations
• Develop a high performing team by embedding formal performance development and informal coaching. Encourage frequent knowledge sharing between team members.
• Determine and analyse development needs for the team and ensure that identified training requirements are executed with budget approved by Head of Operations and Finance.
• Approve leave requests for team members and create leave plan to ensure adequate coverage.
• When required, initiate disciplinary processes for team members calling on support from HR when required.
• Resolve grievances raised by team members and escalate only if required.
• Address poor performance of any team member through the formal Performance Improvement programme and ensure that continued poor performance is appropriately dealt with.
• Motivate team members and ensure that their efforts are recognised

Systems

• Monitoring and ensuring accurate and optimal use of Landmark (linear) and where applicable, for non-linear/digital scheduling
• Drive System Efficiencies in close collaboration with Continuous Improvement

Policy Adherence

• Policy and procedure implementation
• Manage adherence to policy according to territories

Qualifications
Degree in Scheduling Management or related

Experience

• 5-8 years advertising industry experience
• 5-8 years experience in a Management position
• People Management is essential
• An understanding of scheduling across all platform and Genre’s.
