Tour Guide - Cape Town

JOB SPECIFICATION:
Pay: R1,00 per month
Application Question(s):
- Ensure all ILIOS Travel services are carried out according to the company’s policies, procedures and quality standards
- Ensure ILIOS Travel procedures are always followed, as per the Employee Handbook, Standard Operating Procedures and Driver/Guide Manual
- Represent ILIOS Travel in a professional manner that is aimed at achieving customer satisfaction
- Conduct services and adhere to the waybill/itinerary (including excursions, routes, destinations, venues, timings etc.) as stipulated and/or as per client requirements
- Ensure and confirm that all instructions for bookings and/or waybills are read and understood, to follow through with service accurately
- Advanced preparation and research of itineraries prior to rendering touring services
- Ensure ILIOS Travel product knowledge, as well as knowledge of the surrounding areas and/or areas where touring will be conducted
- Convey clients in ILIOS Travel motor vehicles to locations and tour sites as per the confirmed schedule
- Obtain approval from Operations where itinerary deviations are requested by clients, prior to execution and confirm whether the request will incur costs for the clients
- Provide immediate feedback to the Operations team with regards to client requests and/or challenges on the ground
- Hand over and review documentation with clients as and where required
- Adequate and effective communication with all ILIOS Travel departments, clients and other industry partners
- Ensure all service-related receipts are correctly uploaded on the Expense Tracker
- Request that clients rate the ILIOS Travel service/s using the QR Codes on the company's app
- Ensure the safekeeping and care for all ILIOS Travel issued resources and tools of the trade (such as uniforms, tablets etc.)
- Carry out any ad hoc duties as per operational requirements and instructions from Operations
- Uphold a high standard of customer service, maintaining professional and cordial liaison with clients
- Maintain positive relationships with ILIOS Travel industry partners and other staff / teams
- Ensure all client and partner special requests are adhered to, to meet quality and customer service objectives
- Participate in educationals, training, operational and briefing meetings as and when required
- Provide emergency first aid assistance as and when required
- Ensure the management of operational emergencies at the highest level
- Ensure immediate action to on the ground challenges, to ensure clients are pleased with ILIOS Travel's service delivery
- Ensure Operations are immediately updated in the event of a challenge and ensure complete resolution
- Ensure compliance to all ILIOS Travel HR policies, Operations and Fleet SOP's (including Driver / Guide Manual)
- Matric (Gr 12) and relevant tour guide qualification & accreditation for the relevant region or nationally
- 3+ years’ working experience as an accredited tour guide
- Valid Code 10 driving license and PDP
- 2 - 3 years' professional driving experience advantageous
- Superior levels of service delivery and focus on achieving customer satisfaction
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills, fluency in speaking English
- People and time management skills, team player
- Ability to work under pressure and resolve challenges
- Ability to adapt to circumstances efficiently
- Attention to detail, effective crisis management and resolution
- Ability to provide constructive feedback regarding product development and improvement
- General knowledge of South Africa and current affairs (tourism orientated)
- Basic computer literacy
- Must be able to work according to the branch schedule / allocated services, including weekends and public holidays
- Own transport is required, due to early start and/or late finish, as per operational requirements
Pay: R1,00 per month
