Finance Specialist

Here at Labster, we are seeking a Finance Specialist to join our global finance team. The Finance Specialist will be responsible for controlling, overseeing daily operations and executing on projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in Controlling, Account Receivables and Accounts Payable, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and excellent communication abilities. This position reports to the Finance Director and is an excellent opportunity to help lead an organization through a transformative time in the business. This person must be based in Spain to be considered for this role.
Responsibilities

Review of journal entries and vendor invoices
Run month end with finance team and perform review of all accounts
Perform monthly variance analysis to identify missing items/out-of-the-normal spending and trends
Improve and maintain compliance areas, including coordinating with external partners (tax, VAT, transfer pricing)
Perform monthly consolidation (Net Suite) and reconciliation of intercompany accounts
Improve and optimize finance processes and identify opportunities for improvement
Prepare and review audit documentation and assist with the annual audit process
Ad hoc requests and projects (e.g. Net Suite optimization, process automation and enhancing of general documentation)
Analyze and integrate potential acquired companies

Competencies & Skills

Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Data Analytics or similar.
5+ years of experience in Controlling, AR, AP and/or Revenue
Critical Thinking and highly motivated
Net Suite, Excel, and Google Sheets
Experience with working in multinational companies (various regulatory frameworks and foreign currencies)
Exceptional analytical skills coupled with a solid understanding of business dynamics
Strong communications skills and ability to work cross-functionally and with the senior leadership team
Verbal and written fluency in English
Proven track record of delivering on commitments, and working closely & effectively with peers and leaders outside of the Finance team
