The Barcelona Supercomputing Center - Centro Nacional de Supercomputación (BSC-CNS) is the leading supercomputing center in Spain. It houses Mare Nostrum, one of the most powerful supercomputers in Europe, was a founding and hosting member of the former European HPC infrastructure PRACE (Partnership for Advanced Computing in Europe), and is now hosting entity for Euro HPC JU, the Joint Undertaking that leads large-scale investments and HPC provision in Europe. The mission of BSC is to research, develop and manage information technologies in order to facilitate scientific progress. BSC combines HPC service provision and R&D into both computer and computational science (life, earth and engineering sciences) under one roof, and currently has over 1000 staff from 60 countries.

The Operations Department is responsible for the seamless daily operation of the Spanish Supercomputing Network's supercomputers, including Mare Nostrum5—one of the most powerful supercomputers in Europe. The department ensures remote access for users across Spain and internationally. In addition to routine maintenance and operational duties, the team is deeply involved in optimization work, enabling applications, and conducting performance analysis studies. They also play a key role in planning and designing new systems and support facilities.

We are looking for a High-Performance Computing (HPC) support engineer to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong interest in technology and Linux, eager to learn the fundamentals of HPC and grow into a specialist role, becoming a vital part of our team.
