Interior Designer - Drafter

About You
As an Interior Designer and Drafter, you will play a crucial role in coordinating and integrating construction drawings, as well as assisting senior designers in delivering complete construction drawings. You will be responsible for converting designer's designs into accurate construction drawings, integrating various disciplines' drawings, and ensuring the smooth progress of on-site engineering. Your strong communication skills and knowledge of design and construction drawings will enable you to collaborate effectively with consultants, contractors, and suppliers to achieve project objectives.
Your Role
Responsibilities
Conduct site surveys, furniture and equipment assessments .
Organize designer's designs and convert them into comprehensive construction drawings.
Provide floor system diagrams for manufacturers and integrate MEP, IT, AV, and Security drawings into complete construction drawing packages.
Prepare construction and drawing documents required for the project.
Develop as-built drawings and material certificates upon project completion.
Support senior designers in designing and delivering complete construction drawings.
Communicate conceptual design ideas through 2D and 3D presentations and drawings.
Collaborate with consultants, contractors, and suppliers to achieve overall project goals.
Coordinate with project management and construction teams to ensure consistency in construction documents.
Perform value engineering with team members to maintain design intent.
Provide on-site coordination with consultants, contractors, and suppliers during construction.
Background and Skills
Background in interior design with a strong understanding of design principles and construction drawings.
Technical proficiency in Auto CAD, Sketch Up, Revit, and other relevant design software.
Strong communication and coordination skills to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to convert designer's concepts into accurate and detailed construction drawings.
Familiarity with MEP, IT, AV, and Security drawings and their integration into construction documents.
Detail-oriented with the ability to modify and adjust construction drawings according to on-site conditions.
Familiarity with on-site engineering processes and ability to ensure compliance with project schedules.
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute effectively to project objectives.
Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and contribute to the design team.
Your Qualifications
5 to 10 years of experience in commercial interiors particularly in workplace interiors
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school of design
Proficiency in the use of Auto CAD, Sketch Up, Photoshop, BIM documentation in Revit and other 3D computer design programs e.g. Enscape
Basic communication skills in English and Chinese
