Our client is an education-focused nonprofit organization founded in 2010 at a leading U.S. university. They equip educators with tools to create excellent and equitable learning environments that foster engagement and accelerate learning. The organization develops, tests, and scales the impact of evidence-based solutions in collaboration with hundreds of partner organizations.
This project aims to migrate a client's servers from Python 2 to Python 3 by the end of 2025 due to policy changes regarding Python 2 support. This migration is essential to ensure continued functionality and support for critical applications beyond the deadline.

IF YOU ARE

• Proficient in web application development using Python for at least 3 years
• Experienced in working with Python 2 and Python 3
• Skilled in troubleshooting and debugging software applications
• Adept at collaborating with cross-functional teams
• Good knowledge of the Fast API (preferred) or Flask framework
• Experienced in writing unit tests
• A strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
• Experienced in Google App Engine (would be a big advantage)

AND YOU WANT TO

• Migrate applications from Python 2 to Python 3 (webapp2 to Fast API)
• Work on migrating endpoints, tests, dependencies, and Graph QL endpoints
• Migrate the Graphy and Graphene GAE libraries
• Migrate Map Reduce to Apache Beam and Dataflow
• Collaborate with QA engineers to troubleshoot and resolve issues
• Adapt the code to accommodate language changes
• Update dependencies
• Ensure compatibility with the latest Google APIs
