Project Engineer (To be hired by Serco JV)

Khadamat Facilities Management LLC is a joint venture (JV) company formed to operate and provide Integrated Facilities Management Services to the new United Arab Emirates University in Al Ain.

Your Opportunity
Khadamat are looking for a Projects Engineer who will be responsible for Directs, coordinates, and supervises various activities relating to Life Cycle and Maintenance projects including Life Cycle Planning, technical reviews, preparing feasibility studies and cost estimates for alteration, upgrades, modification of existing facilities and systems. Responsible for managing resources appropriately to ensure that relevant maintenance tasks are carried out at the planned frequencies and standards in line with the required standards. The Projects Engineer will also supervise and provide professional services to ensure that all variation works are delivered to the required standard in an effective, efficient, and professional manner to the complete satisfaction of Khadamat customers.

The ideal candidate will be qualified and experienced in Electrical or / Air Conditioning, MEP Systems with a strong background with respect to the Maintenance techniques. Must have a very welldeveloped understanding of maintenance practices, understand the importance of Life cycling principles and will be responsible for managing contractor’s resources appropriately to ensure that the planned works are completed. Will also haven an extensive subject knowledge of the project management, MEP components, installation, estimation, and planning, building facilities, comprehensive understanding of MEP systems & building services systems. He/she should have excellent English language and communication skills.

his role is part of the Khadamat team and will be based in Al Ain, UAE.

Key Accountabilities

Supervise, lead, and execute planned Life cycle tasks in accordance with schedules. Carry out regular and planned Inspections and surveys of all the buildings, systems, and equipment’s in the University Campus Facilities.

Supervise and direct subcontractor’s staff engaged in Life cycle projects, Variation projects delivery.

Monitor and measure all outputs of the Estates Projects department and ensure the requirements are met with no failure.

Support in analyzing defects and faults reported from the campus related to MEP system and incorporate to the Life Cycle solutions and to create Forward Life cycle Maintenance register.

Review project documents as required (drawings, material, and technical submittals) ensuring they comply with the original design intent.

Manage and control the sub-contractors on the Campus for the project works awarded.

Manage the ‘Permit to Work’ systems.

Assist with training and mentoring in safe working practices.

Ability to control and manage different contractors and conduct the initial inspection for cost estimation on MEP equipment’s and Systems.

Production of the Periodic Progress Reports as required by Estates manager.

Ensure that all the works which done by Khadamat contractors are comply with legal HSE guidelines and according to the issued work permit and risk assessments.

Supervise and direct all Khadamat and sub contractor’s staff engaged in both projects and maintenance delivery.

Participate in the duty coverage ‘’ Out of core working hours ‘’ during emergency cases and any site requirements.

Attend the projects progress meetings and represent Estates department with the customer.

Specific Requirements

Educated to Bachler degree level in Electrical / Mechanical discipline

8 years Engineering experience within the MEP Maintenance or building services in Asset /Facility Management industry.

At least 5 years’ experience in delivering high value projects works.

Demonstrable skills in dealing and working closely with internal and external customers and suppliers on complex and interrelated issues on an ongoing basis.

Extensive knowledge of pricing, managing, and delivering small and medium MEP projects.

Familiar with design & engineering standards.

Ability to read and understand MEP drawings, maintenance manuals and manufactures manuals.

Ability to manage sub-contractors.

Excellent communication skills

Customer focused

A reasonable level of computer literacy in the more common applications

Willingness to work on flexible duty schedules

Project Management Professional (PMP) training and certificate.

Understanding of facilities management.

Computer literate.

Fluent in English language (written and oral).

Spoken Arabic would be an advantage.
