Responsibilities of a Assembly Operative

• You will be working as part of the production team and could be assigned to any area: for example, main assembly line, sub assembly, handling finished goods, paint.
• You will be working to a lean philosophy and be expected to contribute daily to the continual improvements of the line and successfully achieving and exceeding takt time.
• You will pay particular focus on promoting waste reduction, ensuring Health and Safety and housekeeping standards are maintained.
• You will be completing man assignments to meet both the cycle time and quality standards.
• You will comply with all company policies and procedures while also operating to standard operating procedures.
• You will take personal responsibility to the quality of your own work and identify quality improvements.
• You will never knowingly pass a quality defect to the next station without escalating it.
• You will take personal responsibility for being an active part of the solution to reduce costs through elimination of waste, cost-down ideas and process improvements.

Essential skills and experience also include:

• Good numeracy and literacy skills.
• Previous experience of quality and problem solving techniques.
• Have a customer-focused approach.
• Good communication skills to effectively communicate at all levels within the organisation.
• Be able to work under pressure and to time constraints, and use your own initiative to solve problems.
• Be self-motivated and results oriented.
• Be a team player with good interpersonal skills.
• Be flexible to respond to changing business needs.
• Ideally, previous experience within a Manufacturing environment.
