Biomass Fuel Logistics and Quality Technician

Are you interested in the renewable energy industry? Do you have a keen eye for attention to detail? Then you might be our new Biomass Fuel Logistics and Quality Technician at our Craigellachie site in Scotland.
What will you be doing?
Reporting to the Fuel Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing and monitoring the operation of the weighbridge system and the inward and outward lorry traffic. You will ensure that the procedures for receiving fuel onto site are followed and that accurate tracking is carried out and always current.
Summary of Responsibilities:
· Manning of the weighbridge office and fuel reception facility.
· Confirm drivers know where and how to deliver their load.
· Ensuring that vehicle recording and data capture for fuel deliveries is accurately carried out.
· Check delivery drivers have the necessary qualifications, have been inducted for site and have the necessary PPE and are aware of plant operational rules.
· Manage vehicles on-site through close communication with the control room and the owner’s logistics dept.
· Carry out sampling tests on the sample as prescribed, assessing visual suitability of fuel being delivered.
· Manage the sample storage and cataloguing, liaising with Suppliers representatives.
· Advise drivers and/or reject road deliveries that violate legal weight restrictions.
· Alert Fuel Supervisor in the case of out-of-spec fuel on the weighbridge and also in the event of excess weight of delivery.
· Be the single point of contact for delivery drivers if there are any issues on site and carry out driver inductions
Skills and knowledge required to succeed:
· Previous experience in weighbridge operations and traffic management.
· Good verbal/written communication skills in English.
· Good interpersonal skills, self-motivated, flexible and committed attitude.
· Excellent record keeping and good working knowledge of MS OFFICE 365 and Excel.
· Full UK Driving License.
· Preferably ONC/ City and Guilds/ NVQ level 3 in a craft skill, with a good level of practical Operational/Maintenance experience (Qualifications below this may be acceptable if accompanied by suitable experience).
· A good understanding of HSE aspects is a fundamental requirement.
The individual will need to be comfortable working in a lean structure, should be highly customer focused, possess strong ethical and moral standards and be willing to assume significant personal accountability.

Whilst working as a Biomass Fuel Logistics and Quality Technician at BWSC we offer a starting salary of £27, 900 with the opportunity for overtime, and a great total reward package including:

This role is a full-time role contracted for 40 hours per week, working on a shift rota.
Some occasional and ad-hoc national travel may be required.
