About the Opportunity
We have a new opportunity for a Biomass Fuel Operative to join our growing Industrial Biomass Team based in Berwick Upon Tweed.

The role will involve:

• Operating a Tele-handler to carry out loading/mixing of the fuel
• Safely operating vehicles to transport goods and materials to designated locations
• Loading and unloading using appropriate equipment and techniques
• Performing routine maintenance and inspections on vehicles/telehandler to ensure they are in proper working order
• Ensuring optimal and continuous operation of the fuel system
• Reporting any predicted issues with fuel at its earliest stage to the Site Manager
• Weigh-in fuel deliveries via the weighbridge
• To sample and test fuel in line with AMP procedures to keep within standards
• Creating and entering properly documented records of fuel testing/samples
• Ensuring accurate and detailed report and record keeping of fuel supply, maintenance, testing, and HSEQ incidents; risk assessments and auditing, via our online HSEQ and service management systems
• Adhering to all traffic laws and regulations while operating company vehicles
• Contributing to achieving HSEQ compliance and maintaining high standards on site, escalating any serious issues or HSEQ concerns to the Site Supervisors
• Liaising on site with the client’s engineering and maintenance teams, maintaining excellent levels of communication

What we are looking for:
Experienced working within a heat and steam generating plant, including boiler fuel feed systems & Ash removal systems our successful candidate will also demonstrate the following knowledge, skills and experience:

• Telehandler Licence (RTITB)
• CPCS/ CSCS Card
• A full UK Driving Licence
• Weighbridge experience
• Tele-hander operation experience and ticket
• Sound Knowledge of Renewable Energy plant processes & all associated Waste / Power Generation machinery (Heavy Machinery / Heavy Equipment / HV MW)
• Knowledge of large heating network systems, Biomass/ biomass fuel systems
• Excellent awareness and understanding of health and safety requirements
• Strong time management skills to effectively meet deadlines
• Flexible, committed and determined to ensure high operational and HSEQ performance across the biomass asset for 24/7 energy demand
