We are looking for someone enthusiastic and motivated to join our SLM Toyota Uckfield team as a Customer Consultant. A Toyota Customer Consultant guides the customer throughout their journey with us, through the vehicle sales and aftersales processes.
The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills to achieve 100% customer satisfaction, and have previous experience in the motor trade, preferably with a sales background.
If you are looking to start your career in the motor industry, we would provide structured training for the right candidate that combines Sales and Aftersales to gain knowledge across the whole business. The training allows the successful candidate to learn and earn simultaneously to build a long-term career with a globally recognised brand. The role will evolve over time as they learn more about the products and services that we offer, with the expectation that they will become a fully trained Toyota-approved Customer Consultant.
The suitable candidate will need to be confident in dealing with customers in person and over the phone, be very enthusiastic, motivated and adaptable to working as both part of a team and as an individual in a fast-paced environment.
Our Customer Consultants work 5 days a week – Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm, and Saturday 8:30am to 5pm on a rotational basis with a day off in the week.
The closing date for this vacancy is Friday 29th November, with interviews being held from Monday 2nd December.

Key job areas of the Customer Consultant role:

• Build rapport and create a bespoke customer experience.
• Agree the details of the work to be carried out with the customer.
• Co-ordinate workshop activity to deliver agreed work.
• Liaise with the workshop to deliver agreed jobs set.
• Update the customer throughout the process, and ensure customer satisfaction on completion.
• Develop relationships to win new business.
• Respond to queries from new/existing customers from multiple channels.
• Maintain up to date knowledge on manufacturer vehicles and product options.
• Follow sales processes to ensure compliance.
• Work as a full member of the dealership team.

What we’re looking for in a Customer Consultant:

• Previous customer service experience.
• Ability to successfully use persuasiveness/negotiation techniques.
• Knowledge of sales principles and methods.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to work on own initiative or with minimum supervision.
• Excellent communication, administrative and organisational skills.
• Excellent customer service/people skills, delivery services to high standards.
• Polite, calm and approachable personality.
• Flexible ‘can do’ approach.
• Proficient in relevant computer applications and systems.
