The Major Programmes and Projects Army facing team is a fast paced environment that supports both the future Army and the broader Defence capabilities of the country by providing a range of facilities for Service Personnel and their families across multiple MOD locations. By delivering sustainable infrastructure we also contribute towards the departmental goal of achieving net zero carbon.
Candidates should be aware that these posts will require travelling to project site locations which can involve overnight stays.
Due to the requirements of the role, these posts are advertised as full-time only.
Person specification
- Support Project Managers in all aspects of the delivery of various defence infrastructure projects
- Work collaboratively in the application of project and programme management standard methodology including planning, scheduling, financial management, risk management reporting and stakeholder engagement
- Utilise Information Management Systems to ensure appropriate, accurate and timely recording of financial forecasts, milestone payments, schedules, requisitions and invoice payments
- Report timely and accurate project progress using various reporting tools/dashboards
- Engage and work closely across MPP and the wider DIO organisation including Commercial, Finance and Technical Services and alongside industry partners to help deliver projects within time, cost and quality constraints
- The post may provide potential Line Management duties
- Membership or willingness to obtain membership of an appropriate professional body such as APM, RICS or CIOB
- Understanding of design and construction delivery
- Knowledge or experience of working in either a project, defence or infrastructure environment.

Your suitability for the role will be assessed using the Success Profile elements that have been chosen for this campaign. Each element will be scored accordingly, and the successful candidate will be appointed on merit.
