The role…
Global Data is looking for a permanent full-time Editor working on report content published to our Consumer Goods subscriber platform.
Global Data’s Consumer Goods team provides business intelligence to some of the industry’s key companies, covering sectors such as beverages, packaging, clothing and footwear, and electricals. Our clients rely on us to provide timely, accurate, and actionable insight that helps them stay ahead of their competitors. Our team of Editors ensures that all client-facing content is of the highest possible standard.
The perfect candidate will be able to work to deadline without sacrificing accuracy or quality. You will help our analyst teams arrive at the best possible version of their work, while providing feedback that helps them improve future submissions. As the last pair of eyes before publication, a strong ability to spot mistakes and inconsistencies is essential (and will be tested as part of the interview process). You’ll also need to work under your own initiative without losing focus over the course of lengthy, detailed content.
Key responsibilities:

• Proofread text to identify any errors in grammar, punctuation, spelling, and tone.

• Suggest revisions to improve the clarity, accuracy, and quality of content, such as changing words and rearranging sentences and paragraphs.

• Fact check reports against Global Data’s proprietary information as well as relevant secondary sources.

• Ensure that all content is in line with Global Data’s in-house Style Guide and relevant to the target audience.

• Liaise with analysts to agree deadlines, timescales, and implementation of feedback.

Role requirements:

• An undergraduate degree and/or experience proofing and editing content in a previous role.

• Keen attention to detail, strong command of the English language, and excellent writing skills.

• Ability to work on content with both speed and accuracy.

• Excellent time management and multitasking skills.

• Familiarity/experience with the Microsoft Office suite of products.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to manage key stakeholder relationships.

• Ability to provide detailed, constructive comments and feedback that help drive improvements across analyst teams.
