Health Promotion Lead – NCL Cancer Screening

Reporting into the TLHC Operational Manager, the postholder will work with the TLHC team, NCL Cancer Alliance and other local stakeholders across NCL to improve participation in the programme particularly amongst communities with lower uptake. To succeed in this role, you will have experience of delivering health promotion initiatives with a particular focus on addressing inequalities. You will be organised, proactive and motivated to achieve the best outcomes for our population. You will also have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a practical mindset. The ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders is essential. The role is suitable for someone with a background in health promotion, public health or cancer services.
- The post holder will be responsible for directing the health promotion activities of the TLHC programme across NCL. This includes developing and delivering activities to improve participation within the programme, alongside reducing health inequalities in the eligible population.
- The postholder will support work to identify inequalities and interventions that can improve access and reduce inequalities for the target population. The role will focus on the NCL areas of Barnet, Enfield, Haringey, Camden, and Islington. Targeting lower uptake areas and population groups, ensuring up to date data is available and working with a range of stakeholders across the system.
- The post holder will be responsible for developing and ensuring delivery of the TLHC programme health promotion strategy via a mixture of outreach, training/awareness, stakeholder engagement, effective health promotion and raising health awareness to the eligible population. In many forums the postholder will be representing the mission of overcoming barriers to screening uptake in our population making specific reference to lung cancer campaigns.
- The postholder will utilise professional public health skills in the management, supervision, and delivery of the health promotion program. Coordinating activities as necessary to promote the programme to the eligible population, to help meet the objectives.

This vacancy has been advertised in accordance with the new NHS pay rate which will take effect from autumn 2024. Please note if your employment starts before the 24/25 pay scales are implemented you will be paid under the 23/24 pay scales and any backpay will be adjusted accordingly.
