Are you an experienced technician with expertise in bio-materials and a passion for helping innovators bring their creative ideas to life? Do you have the skills to oversee a bio-materials workshop, providing high-quality technical support to users in a collaborative environment?
This is a fixed term role until March 2025 and funded through the UKSPF (United Kingdom Shared Prosperity Fund).
We are seeking a part time dedicated Bio-materials Technician to deliver technical expertise and provide high-quality technical support to help STEAM users advance their businesses by implementing and prototyping creative ideas. The Technician will oversee the running of the Bio-materials workshop in the Production space, working closely with the technical team and users, offering support across a wide range of production techniques. You will also enable users to utilise cutting-edge resources across the facility, facilitating access to state-of-the-art equipment and technologies.
You will have a HND or degree in a relevant subject or able to demonstrate a combination of qualifications, skills and experience at an equivalent level. You will have a working knowledge of workshop equipment such as printers, sewing machines, lab prep equipment, screen printing is desirable, however training will also be provided. You will have some practical experience and experience of delivery of technical support in a relevant occupation, either from industry or an educational environment. A relevant professional qualification in Health & Safety such as IOSH, NEBOSH would be desirable.
Appointments will be made at the end of October 2024 on a fixed term basis until 31 March 2025.
