General Dynamics in St Leonards-on-Sea currently provide avionic mission computing systems for a wide range of military fast jets, helicopters, and UAV’s. Recent success has resulted in General Dynamics developing the next generation of Advanced High Performance, Safety Critical Mission Computer Systems to meet the needs of latest platforms in development by several aircraft manufacturers. These Mission Computing Systems provide the functionality that integrates aircraft systems, sensor systems and stores management systems with the information and control systems required by the aircrew to meet the demanding operational needs of these aircraft.
Job Description
As a Payroll Assistant you will be a valued member of our Financial Accounts team providing support to the Payroll Manager
Typical day to day tasks include:
- Assist the payroll manager with the day to day running of the payroll from start to finish processing and reviewing of payroll ensuring all time frames are met.
- Answering staff queries covering a range of areas such as PAYE deductions, tax codes, pay amounts etc and escalating as appropriate.
- Calculation of wages and salaries and other impacts such as shift patterns and overtime compensation. Ability to carry out manual calculations (SSP, SMP, tax, NI etc)
- Preparing payroll reconciliations for payments
- Raise payments to HMRC and other organisations based on payroll deductions made.
Qualifications
You will have payroll experience and the ability to plan, manage, organise operational tasks on own initiative to tight deadlines Experience with Oracle payroll would be an advantage.
In addition you will have/be:
- Payroll qualification is desirable.
- Educated to AAT standard or equivalent or qualified by experience.
Additional Information
This is a 22.5 hours per week position.
This position is a hybrid working role with time spent in the office and working from home.
Salary for this position is £22,040 - £24,000 based on 22.5 hrs working (£38,400 - £40,000 full time equivalent)
