Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential care and assistance to individuals in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and private homes. This role is crucial in enhancing the quality of life for our clients, ensuring their comfort and wellbeing through personalised support.
Duties

• Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility support.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
• Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients’ health conditions.
• Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and preferences.
• Support clients with dementia care, ensuring safety and comfort in their surroundings.
• Facilitate recreational activities that promote engagement and social interaction.
• Maintain accurate records of client care and report any changes in condition to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
• Drive clients to appointments or social outings as required.
• Assist with hospice care when necessary, providing compassionate end-of-life support.
• Collaborate with nurses and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Requirements

• Previous experience in patient care, home care, or similar roles is desirable.
• Knowledge of dementia care practices is an advantage.
• Ability to prepare meals that meet specific dietary requirements.
• Strong communication skills and a caring attitude towards clients of all ages, including children.
• A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting clients as needed.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends if required.
• Certification in first aid or CPR is beneficial but not mandatory; training can be provided.
