We're looking for motivated, dedicated, and enthusiastic carer to support a young male who has suffered an acquired brain injury.
You will be required to support our client in his own adapted home with all aspects of daily living.
The role encompasses all aspects of personal care, manual handling, medication administration, and communication support.
The client has communication difficulties and uses alternative communication methods, so experience using communication aids would be advantageous.
As a member of our care team, you'll collaborate with families and therapists to deliver tailored, person-centred care and rehabilitation.
You'll monitor and record clients' health and rehabilitation progress
using electronic care records and EMAR.
Additionally, you'll drive the client’s wheelchair-adapted vehicle to take him out in the community and to medical and therapy appointments.
Our client leads and full and active lifestyle, and enjoys holidays both in the UK and abroad with his support team.

Job Title:
Support Worker (Driver Essential)
Reports to:
Team Leader / Case Manager
Job Overview: (Note - In addition to these functions, employees are required to carry out such duties as may reasonably be required)
· To provide care in accordance with best practice and legislative requirements, reflecting policies and procedures and agreed standards under the direction of the Case Manager / Care Co-ordinator
· To support and enable service users to maintain skills and personal interests while delivering person-centred care unique to each individual
· To maintain skills at a current level and undertake such training and development as required, from time-to-time, to maintain and progress knowledge
Location:
The client’s residential home, but you may be required to work from other locations at the discretion of the company and with appropriate notice.
Pay:
£13.52 day rate
£14.56 weekend rate​
£9.88 - £10.30 per hour sleep nights (12am - 8am)​
Working Hours:
36 hours per week
Days and Sleep Nights, weekday and weekend
Shifts will be on a rolling rota basis
Responsibilities and Duties of the Job:
The Support Worker’s responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
· Ensure service users are at the heart of the care delivery and their wishes and preferences enhance their wellbeing
· To contribute to the efficient running of the service
· Support service users to maintain their relationships and connections with the local community
· Ensure care plans and other information about how to support service users are followed
· Be responsible for informing the Case Manager / Care Co-ordinator of any changes in the needs of service users
· Be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of those individuals they support
Working with Others:
· Develop effective working relationships with other employees within the service
· Work in cooperation with members of the multidisciplinary teams to maximise opportunities for service users
· If desired by the service user, maintain and develop relationships with their family, friends and other people important in their life

Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
- Good English - written and verbal
- Care Certificate or equivalent
- Level 2/3 Health and Social Care Diploma or willingness to work towards
- Evidence of continued professional development
Knowledge
Essential
- Understanding of brain injury
- Knowledge of CQC fundamental standards and key lines of enquiry
Experience
Essential
- 1 year minimum experience in health and social care
- 1 year minimum experience in working with people with brain injury

Proficient Written Skills
Maintain all care plans/care records in accordance with the service’s policy
Leadership Skills
Ability to induct and orientate new employees to the job role and service
Provide service users with support/assistance as they accomplish daily tasks, including bathing, eating, dressing, grooming and using the bathroom
Communicate any problems, concerns or changes to service users’ family members as needed
Communication Skills
Carers must build a rapport with service users by establishing personal connections and showing an interest in their lives
Carers must be able to communicate effectively with service users
Carers must have the communication skills to inform colleagues, management and professionals about the needs of service users
Problem-solving Skills
Carers need to be able to adapt to and address situations quickly
Plan, develop, implement and assess approaches to promote health and wellbeing, whilst recognising and reporting situations where there might be a need for protection
