The opportunity
We are looking for the next generation of scientists to join Concept Life Sciences. The placement is for a chemistry undergraduate to work within the Concept Life Sciences team as an Assistant Scientist located in Sandwich, Kent. You will work on an innovative, bespoke chemistry project that is focused on efficient chemical synthesis. Projects could look to develop new methodology using state-of-the-art technology (such as electrochemistry or enzymes) or to develop a new process that facilitates a large scale synthesis of building blocks or bioactive compounds (100g +). We’ll give you first-hand experience of doing scientific research, help you to improve your critical thinking & problem solving skills, develop your practical chemistry and give you the opportunity to communicate science.
We are also recruiting Year in Industry Scientists in medicinal chemistry (Chapel-en-le-Frith) and biology (Edinburgh).
What you need to know
· You must be a chemistry undergraduate on track to achieve a 2:1 or above
· This is a full-time position with a working pattern of 37.5 hours, Monday to Friday
· You will need to be available and ready to start with us on 7th July 2025 and be able to commit to stay with us until 31st July 2026
· We provide you with 25 days paid holiday per annum + UK bank holidays

· You must be able to provide relevant documentation to demonstrate your right to work in the UK and/or hold the appropriate work/student visa
