About Family Services
BCNC’s Family Services department was developed in 2007 to support parents, youth, and children through a holistic approach. Family Services aims to improve the psychosocial well-being of immigrant families in Greater Boston and the South Shore. It achieves this goal by offering linguistically and culturally appropriate short-term mental health counseling, case management, and educational programs, which reduces cultural stigma related to behavioral and mental health and increases knowledge of and access to available resources and supports.
About The Role
The Administrative Support Coordinator plays a crucial role in assisting BCNC Family Services’ key initiatives, providing vital administrative support across multiple projects. In this position, you will help coordinate and manage programs aimed at promoting the mental health and well-being of individuals, families, and the community. These include Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) trainings, a Trainers Network, coalition meetings, and other community health initiatives. You will also assist with administrative tasks for projects focused on problem gambling prevention and overall mental health support. This is a 10-15 hour per week position. The Administrative Support Coordinator reports directly to the Director of Family Services.
What You Will Do
  • Assist in the coordination of meetings and events related to mental health, problem gambling prevention, and community health initiatives.
  • Develop flyers, brochures, and other materials in English and Chinese to support outreach efforts.
  • Attend and provide support at all meetings for key initiatives, including notetaking, managing attendance, and coordinating follow-ups.
  • Provide administrative and tech support for community health projects, including event logistics, program registration, documentation, and communication in English and Chinese.
  • Support in-person and virtual events such as MHFA community trainings by managing setup, tech support, and refreshments.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of project activities, including attendance, meeting minutes, and survey responses to support outreach and service goals.
  • Communicate directly with MHFA training registrants regarding inquiries or issues related to registration, prework completion, or course details.
  • Attend an MHFA community training assigned by the supervisor to become certified as an MHFAider.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with the agency’s policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
What We Look For
  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate or BA degree preferred.
  • Experience using computer/laptop and software such as MS Office and Zoom.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Professional working proficiency in Cantonese or Mandarin Chinese a plus.
Working Conditions
  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule and may require local travel during the workday and weekend.
  • Work is performed primarily in a standard work environment, including the operation of computer equipment, and physical demands associated with a traditional work setting, e.g., walking, standing, communicating, and other physical functions, as necessary.

Please Note
You must be authorized to work in the United States. BCNC does not provide sponsorship for an employment work visa.
