Job Summary:
The Adoption Recruitment Specialist will be responsible for utilizing inquiry technology and other tools to recruit for children in the system that are not yet matched with a prospective adoptive family. This position will be responsible for learning the needs of their assigned recruitment children and writing child studies for them. Responsibilities may also include home visits, transporting children and interviews. The position will also require communication with communities partners that are a part of the child’s professional team.
Essential Duties:
- Utilize Florida Safe Families Network (FSFN) to document and create person provider inquiries and home studies.
- Attend and represent the organization at recruitment events and community functions.
- Coordinate with other professional entities to ensure a smooth and efficient adoption process.
- Work in partnership with the recruitment trainers to align strategies and share insights.
- Collaborate with case manager organizations, Guardian Ad Litem, and other professional entities involved in the adoption process.
- Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to the development of recruitment and training initiatives.
- Be available to work evenings and weekends as required to accommodate the schedules of prospective adoptive families and attend different functions.
- Adapt to changes in work location and schedule based on organizational needs.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience:
Three years professional experience in child welfare with at least two years in a dependency related position.

- Utilize the Family Match recruitment tools to identify
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
- State, Federal and local employment laws
- Recruitment and retention practices
- Thorough understanding of the adoption process.
- Principles of human behavior, learning and communication.
- Strong Written and Verbal Communication
- Strong follow-up and follow through
- Strong organizational and time management
- Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Word
Current Child Welfare certification and knowledge of Florida's Child Welfare system. Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Comprehensive Adoption Training and PRIDE Train the Trainer preferred.
Other Requirements:
- Clear a Level II background screening
- Clear a reference check
- Clear a local background check from the County in which you reside
- Clear a substance abuse screen
- Provide a copy of all degrees prior to your first day of employment
- Clear a Motor Vehicles Records check and must be insurable under the company’s automobile policy.
- Provide copy of automobile insurance.
- Provide proof of and maintain a minimum personal auto liability insurance level $100,000/$300,000 if deemed to be a driving risk.
- Clear an E-Verify check to substantiate that the successful candidate meets the Department of Homeland Security authorization requirements to work in the United States (for more information visit www.dhs.gov/e-verify)
