Springfield College seeks applications for an Assistant Professor of Sport and Exercise Psychology within the Department of Exercise Science. This is a full-time, nine-month, tenure-track appointment within the School of Physical Education, Performance and Sport Leadership beginning August 2025. Expertise in the field, demonstrated excellence in teaching, and a strong commitment to scholarly endeavors and service activities are expected.

The position primarily consists of teaching courses in our thriving sport and exercise psychology in-person and online graduate programs. Course assignments will likely include Sport Psychology, Applied Sport Psychology, and Internship in Sport Psychology but may vary based on expertise. Additionally, the faculty member will coordinate fieldwork placements, serve on graduate research and portfolio committees, and act as an academic advisor to graduate students in the programs. Preference will be given to candidates who can bring diverse perspectives to this growing department and who are motivated to help graduate students succeed.

As of 2019, the estimated population was 153,606, making it the third-largest city in Massachusetts, the fourth-most populous city in New England after Boston, Worcester, and Providence, and the 12th-most populous in the Northeastern United States. Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Doctoral degree in Sport and Exercise Psychology or closely related field (ABD will be considered)
Strong organizational, communication, and technology skills

Preferred Qualifications:

Registered AASP mentor, CMPC, or anticipated certification by Fall 2025
Experience teaching graduate students in both face-to-face and online modalities
Strong potential for research and scholarly activities in sport and exercise psychology
Experience with supervising interns in sport and exercise psychology
