FULL TIME

November 19, 2024

Are you a strategic leader with a passion for driving excellence across multiple functions?

The Harris Center is seeking a dynamic Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) to join our executive team. In this high-impact role, you will be the strategic right hand to the CEO, providing leadership and oversight in key operational areas including Human Resources, Communications, Facilities Management, Construction, Security, and Board Relations. As CAO, you will play a vital role in shaping the direction of the organization, aligning our mission, vision, and strategic priorities with the day-to-day execution of critical initiatives.

The CAO will play a vital role in enhancing non-clinical operations, building strong relationships with stakeholders, and fostering a culture of excellence. This role is perfect for a collaborative, results-driven leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, navigates complex challenges, and is motivated by the opportunity to make a lasting impact. If you are ready to lead with purpose, drive strategic initiatives, and support The Harris Center's mission, we encourage you to apply.

As our CAO, you will:
  • Lead High-Level Initiatives: Serve as a key member of the executive team, directing and overseeing major programs initiated by the CEO, ensuring successful implementation across the organization
  • Drive Strategic Direction: Develop and implement strategic plans that align with The Harris Center’s Mission, Vision, and the Board of Trustees' priorities, guiding the organization toward sustained growth and impact.
  • Champion Organizational Communication: Lead efforts to ensure clear and effective communication across departments, driving alignment and execution of strategic priorities.
  • Build Key Relationships: Foster strategic alliances with internal and external stakeholders, strengthening The Harris Center’s mission and expanding its community impact.
  • Focus on Organizational Excellence: Oversee operations across multiple functions, ensuring the organization meets its key objectives and strategic goals.
  • Support Board Relations: Coordinate all activities related to the Board of Trustees and committee meetings, facilitating effective communication and ensuring alignment with board priorities.

What We Are Looking For:
  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years of progressive senior leadership experience within commercial, non-profit, or government environments, with a proven track record in driving operational excellence and overseeing diverse non-clinical functions.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree is required. A Master’s degree (MBA or equivalent) is preferred.
  • Industry Knowledge: Expertise in facilities management, construction oversight, security, human resources, and communications within complex, multi-functional organizations. Experience in healthcare or behavioral health settings is a plus.
  • Financial Acumen: Demonstrated ability to manage financial operations, budget planning, and capital allocation for large-scale projects, with the capacity to guide executive-level decision-making.
  • Board and Stakeholder Relations: Proven experience in engaging with Board of Trustees and senior stakeholders, facilitating meetings, and aligning organizational strategies with governance priorities.
  • Change Management Expertise: Ability to lead and implement change initiatives across the organization, driving innovation and operational improvements through collaborative efforts.
  • Strategic Communication: Exceptional skills in articulating business vision, effectively communicating across departments, and fostering an environment of transparency and collaboration.
  • Leadership and Teamwork: A self-starter who thrives in a dynamic environment, demonstrates strong problem-solving abilities, and is committed to leading with integrity and inclusivity.
  • Commitment to Mission: A strong dedication to The Harris Center’s mission, with a passion for community mental health, inclusivity, and the organizational values that support our vision.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment, managing multiple priorities, and navigating complex regulatory and operational demands.
