Director, Product Design

Overview:

This position is within the Product Management division, which is accountable for the success of our software solutions by working cross-functionally with teams that develop, market, sell and support them.

The Opportunity
As the Director of Product Design, you will play a critical role in defining and driving our design vision, fostering a collaborative culture, and championing a people-first approach. With a robust design strategy in place, you'll ensure our products are inspired, empowered, and transformed, creating impactful solutions that resonate deeply with our users. You will report to the Chief Product Officer and work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, research, product development, marketing, sales, and customer success, to drive alignment and create cohesive user experiences. Responsibilities: What You’ll Be Doing

Lead and inspire a talented product design team, overseeing their professional growth, performance, and well-being.
Collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to shape product strategy and design cohesive user experiences that address customer needs.
Champion user-centered design principles across the company, ensuring our products are not only functional but also highly engaging and enjoyable.
Implement and uphold Marty Cagan’s Product Operating Model (outlined in Inspired, Empowered, Transformed) to create a culture of empowered teams and that support product-led growth.
Drive alignment across the organization, fostering a collaborative environment where ideas are freely shared, and customer needs are at the forefront.
Promote diversity and inclusion within the team, creating an environment where all voices are valued, and innovative ideas are celebrated.
Set high standards for design execution and quality, ensuring consistency, accessibility, and usability across all products.

Qualifications:

What You Bring to the Team

5-10 years of experience in product design with a proven track record in Saa S or related fields.
3-5 years of people management experience, with a history of developing and nurturing design talent.
Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with a demonstrated ability to work harmoniously with diverse teams.
People-centered mindset with a commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive work environment.
Deep familiarity with Marty Cagan’s Inspired, Empowered, transformed model, with a practical understanding of how to apply these principles to build successful design teams.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a talent for inspiring others and building consensus.

Bonus Qualifications:

Experience working in agile development environments.
Strong portfolio showcasing a range of successful Saa S product designs and user-centric design solutions.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

The physical activities of this position include frequent sitting, telephone communication, working on a computer for extended periods of time. Visual acuity is required to perform activities close to the eyes.
This position is fully remote with only occasional travel to the office for team meetings and events. Team members are expected to have an established workspace.
Ability to work remotely in the United States or Canada.
