This is a temporary position that includes state benefits with an anticipated end date of 2027.
- Telework (Within Minnesota or Neighboring States) and Flexible Hours Options Are Available.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Conduct conflict facilitation services as designated within the Integrated Conflict Management System (ICMS) for DHS
- Conduct skill and relationship development services as designated within the Integrated Conflict Management System (ICMS) for the Department of Human Services (DHS).
- Assist the ICMS Coordinator in coordinating ICMS services.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Two (2) years of expert experience performing training, knowledge, and experience in the principles and practices of restorative philosophy, alternative dispute resolution (transformative or facilitative mediation), and integrated conflict management systems along with the required work experiences listed below.
OR
Bachelor’s degree in peace and conflict studies, conflict resolution, psychology, or another closely related degree.
AND
One (1) year of experience performing conflict management training and/or experience in the principles and practices of restorative philosophy, alternative dispute resolution (transformative or facilitative mediation), and integrated conflict management systems along with the required work experiences listed below.
Required work experiences must clearly demonstrate:
- Conducting conflict facilitation services.
- Evaluating problems of a procedural nature and applying techniques to deal with those problems.
- Practical experience applying conflict management principles at an organization or business.
Preferred Qualifications
- Variety of experiences working effectively with others from different backgrounds and cultures.
- Strong human relations and communication skills; communicate clearly and professionally both verbally and in writing; respond flexibly to requests and concerns.
- Minnesota State Neutrals roster also known as the Minnesota Statewide ADR-Rule 114 Neutrals Roster.
- Knowledge of the agency’s organizational structure and how the ICMS function relates to that structure.
- Demonstrated experience facilitating discussions to guide, solicit and explore diverse perspectives.
Additional Requirements
- The Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) will conduct criminal background checks on all finalists for this position. Finalists must pass the DHS background check.
- Employee reference checks will be conducted on all finalists. This may include a review of documentation related to job performance. It also includes contact with the applicant's former employer(s).
