Essential Job Functions:
The Judiciary Clerk is an entry-level clerical position performing case processing duties and responsibilities daily, which entails a high volume of data entry work for multiple case types to include, but not limited to, civil and criminal court cases. This position may be present in Court for the purpose of reassignment duties (scheduling or re-scheduling cases).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Using Odyssey to work on calendar(s) - scheduling Civil/Criminal matters for over thirty-five (including senior) Judges, postponing and rescheduling matters.
Reviews and schedules Coram Nobis and post-conviction pleadings tasked from the Criminal Division. Prepare Coram Nobis and post-conviction reports.
Communicates daily with the Attorneys and members of the public, assisting them with directions to the various courtrooms in both courthouses; in-person and over the telephone.
Assists with answering scheduling questions for Attorneys and the public concerning dockets and cases. Assist with the preparation of statistics for Civil/Criminal case activities.
Generates hearing notices, mail Criminal Summons, process daily Criminal /Civil Docket, process Change of Docket Request Forms, schedule violation of probation cases, schedule post-Conviction matters.

Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma (or GED equivalent).
Experience:
Two (2) years of work experience, preferably in court operations or in the fields of criminal justice, parole and probation, legal or financial services.
Note:
A bachelor's degree may substitute the required work experience.
A Paralegal/associate degree or 60 college credits may substitute the required work experience.
A Paralegal Certificate may substitute the required work experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of general office practices, procedures, and equipment.
Knowledge of basic English and arithmetic to include, but not limited to, spelling, punctuation, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Skill in customer service and handling problems tactfully and patiently.
Skill in accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to read and interpret documents and follow procedural manual.
Ability to use standard office and business equipment including, but not limited to, personal computers, word processing, database software, copier/fax machine, computerized cash register, etc.
Ability to type, perform data entry and word processing.
Ability to read comments and notations, initiating appropriate course of action.
Ability to communicate in an effective, patient, and tactful manner to convey direction, instructions, and information to the public.
Ability to learn and apply job-related terminology, rules, policies, procedures, regulations, and laws as required.
Ability to collect data, establish facts, record data, and appropriately complete forms.
Ability to exercise tact and understanding in stressful situations.

Physical Requirements:
Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.
Software and Computer Skills:
Microsoft Office Suite: specifically, Odyssey, Word, Excel, Outlook; Share Point, Open Edge, Teams, and Zoom for Government communication.
