Job Summary:
Our Hot Line Cooks are passionate about food and collaborate with our kitchen team to deliver great food to our guests every time they visit. The Hot Line Cook oversees operations and job duties such as responding to inquiries, resolving issues or concerns. The Hot Line Cook has the primary objective of driving the vision for company and customer standards. The Hot Line Cook is accountable for shaping and delivering the business’s production to drive the overall performance of the department. The Hot Line Cook balances company and customer demands with delivery and execution. The Hot Line Cook ensures that our products and services meet all necessary requirements before they reach the consumer. The Hot Line Cook oversees cost effectiveness, productivity, and the provision of company and customer demands that nurture continuous improvement. The Hot Line Cook is responsible for implementing quality assurance principles and practices throughout the company.


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Basic food, kitchen equipment and prepping knowledge.
  • Must be able to read tickets on screen.
  • Food handler’s certification.
  • Display working knowledge of all ingredients and preparation used on the menu.
  • Follow company recipes, portion controls and presentation specifications.
  • Maintain a fully stocked station throughout each shift and ensure that all food meets company standards.
  • Consistently ensure the station is clean and organized.
  • Communicate effectively with the kitchen team and embody an environment of teamwork.
  • Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
  • Handle varying levels of business volume with composure and a positive attitude.
  • Perform all opening and closing duties assigned by Kitchen Manager, Chef or managers.
  • Demonstrate an eagerness to refine skills and desire to learn and grow.
  • Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changes.
  • Driven and self-motivated.
  • Implement quality assurance standards.
  • Ensure performance, reliability, functionality, and compatibility is up to company standards.
  • Patience and the ability to maintain a professional demeanor.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Enforce health and safety precautions.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Ability to frequently lift, move and/or push up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Ability to sit, walk, climb up and down stairs repeatedly for extended periods of time.
  • Constant standing and bending.
  • Tasks will be performed using and in proximity of coolers, stoves, and other hot equipment.


Education and Experience:

  • Food Safety / Handlers Certification
  • 1+ year in a line cook position at a casual dining restaurant or similar experience.

Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as e-mail communication, instant message communications, legal documents, invoices, technical manuals, ledgers, and purchase orders. Inventory, shipping, and various reports. Ability to effectively present information, provide instructions and thoroughly answer questions in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization in English.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in training materials and manuals. The ability to reasonably assess and report malfunctioning equipment, poor condition of equipment and any potential issues that may affect operations and all areas of the kitchen.
