The Paul Merage School of Business at UC Irvine offers three dynamic MBA programs – plus Ph D, specialty masters and undergraduate business degrees – that prepare business leaders for our digitally driven world. Through our programs, students acquire the exceptional ability to grow their organizations through strategic innovation, analytical decision-making, digital information technology and collaborative execution. While the Merage School is relatively young, it has quickly grown to rank consistently among the top five percent of all business programs worldwide through exceptional student recruitment, world-class faculty, a strong alumni network and close relationships with both individual business executives and global corporations.

Responsibilities:

The Curriculum Planner for the Merage School of Business works independently to manage and coordinate the scheduling of courses for both undergraduate and graduate programs. Collaborating closely with area coordinators, Associate Deans, Faculty Program Directors, and the Academic Services Team, this role requires a deep understanding of academic requirements, course progression, and curriculum development. The Planner ensures alignment with the school’s evolving curriculum, including new programs and delivery modalities.

Key responsibilities include managing course proposal submissions, updating the university course catalogue, and supporting faculty committees as needed. The Planner also plays a vital role in sequencing courses for degree completion, coordinating cross-departmental courses, and resolving complex scheduling challenges. The Planner may assist with faculty colloquia, collaborate with faculty on course material ordering, and serve as the primary point of contact for curriculum delivery issues.

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $58,600- $69,150 (Annual).

Required:

Thorough knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs.
Thorough knowledge of department, organization, and University policies, procedures, and directives.
Thorough knowledge of department and school / college general and major course and degree requirements.
Proven ability in problem identification, reasoning, analysis to identify trends.
Proven ability to find solutions to conflicting situations.
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training

Preferred:

Strong interpersonal skills to work with and gain trust from department senior management, faculty, and students.
Proven ability to evaluate, and implement advanced course scheduling software tools, ensuring that the selected solutions meet the institution’s needs for efficiency, scalability, and user-friendliness.
A minimum of 3 years of experience conducting curriculum planning and course scheduling

Special Conditions:

Hybrid position with some onsite work expected each week.
