THE POSITION:
At STACK, the OT & Cloud Engineer will deploy, monitor, upgrade, and support infrastructure and cloud systems supporting operational technology. The position requires expertise in operating highly available, secure, and scalable systems. The role works under minimal direction with considerable latitude for initiative and independent judgment.
This is a “hands-on” position that requires strong technical skills, as well as excellent informal leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Design, implement, and maintain the organization's cloud and systems infrastructure supporting operational technology.
- Monitor performance, identify bottlenecks or issues, and proactively implement solutions to optimize performance and ensure high availability.
- Implement and manage monitoring tools to oversee system performance, identify issues, and implement necessary measures to optimize system performance and reliability.
- Conduct regular system backups, audits, and testing to ensure business continuity.
- Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for escalated infrastructure issues.
- Investigate and resolve complex problems, collaborating with cross-functional teams and vendors as needed.
- Perform root cause analysis of incidents and develop preventive measures to minimize future occurrences.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices, applying them to enhance performance, reliability, and security.
- Maintain accurate documentation of configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- Prepare regular reports on infrastructure performance, security incidents, and other relevant metrics.
- On-call availability may be required to respond to emergency situations.
THE DETAILS:
- Location: Any STACK data center site
- Travel: Domestic travel up to 10%
- Compensation: 140,000 - 150,000 + bonus
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
- Must pass comprehensive background screening
MUST-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in a computer science, computer information systems, management information systems, or related field preferred.
- 5-7 years’ experience as an infrastructure and cloud engineer in an enterprise or data center setting
- 5+ years’ experience with on-premises IT infrastructure, AWS and Azure
- Working understanding of operational technology instrumentation, control and HMI platforms
- Data center or industrial experience a plus.
