Our Allied Health Department is home to five top-ranked divisions, and we are home to 18 top-ranked clinical and basic science departments in NIH research funding.

OUR MISSION
Our mission is to improve the health and well-being of North Carolinians and others whom we serve. We accomplish this by providing leadership and excellence in the interrelated areas of patient care, education, and research.

The UNC Translational and Clinical Sciences Institute (Tra CS) serves as the academic home for the University’s Clinical and Translational Sciences Award (CTSA), a funded NIH grant. The vision of the Tra CS Institute is to transform how clinical and translational science is being performed, here at UNC, throughout the State and out into the CTSA national community.

This position will serve as a team member in the Tra CS Informatics and Data Science (IDSci) Service, which supports investigators in obtaining and using clinical data in support of their research. The Project Manager is expected to manage day-to-day operations of projects with considerable independence, especially in the areas of decision-making, problem-solving, and milestone management. The Project Manager will be responsible for co-managing the request intake and assignment process, including consulting with study teams, liaising with data analysts, and shuttling requests through the approval process. The Project Manager will also manage a variety of internal and externally funded informatics development projects and will provide user support for our self-service tools. These responsibilities will require the Project Manager to develop an in-depth understanding of institutional policies on the use of clinical data for research. Additionally, with the support of the IDSci analyst team, the Project Manager will be expected to develop and maintain general knowledge about the availability and quality of UNC’s clinical data.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Relevant post-Baccalaureate degree required (or foreign degree equivalent); for candidates demonstrating comparable independent research productivity, will accept a relevant Bachelor’s degree (or foreign degree equivalent) and 3 or more years of relevant experience in substitution. May require terminal degree and licensure.

Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience

The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience coordinating and managing a project plan, including progress tracking and working with project team to meet milestones. Must excel in working with teams composed of individuals with different professional expertise (e.g., faculty, programmers). Strong business communication skills (email, phone, etc.) are a must.
